An outstanding residential structure was constructed on Varna’s Exarch Joseph Square one hundred years ago, in the year 1924. Famous Varna architect of the 1920s and 1930s arch. Anton Frangia created the home of businessman Nikolay Nenov. Columns, lisena, loggia, mascaron depicting a lion’s head, and other lovely embellishments adorn the exteriors.
Two sculptures, one depicting a woman and one a man, stand out on the attic floor. The renowned Bulgarian sculptor Kiril Shivarov created these pieces. A little cartouche between the statues bears the year of construction, which is 1924.
