The Museum house was built was in 1851 but the meusuem was opened around 1969, and is located inside the structure that has seen better days. The building has formerly the Belgian consulate, a hotel, and a Turkish jail and is reported to be one of the oldest buidling in Varna.
The three levels have three separate exhibits totaling 600 square meters. From 1878-1939, this book chronicles the growth of Varna’s economy, industry, culture, education, and tourism.
In addition to the numerous exhibits, photos and documents, the Museum recreates a hotel room, a city home, a beer house, a barber’s, a bookstore, a lawyer’s office, a photo studio from the Interwar Period.
