Ref Number: 79
Cor Caroly, the yacht’s name, translates to “Car’s heart” in Latin. In 1979, the boat served as confirmation that a Bulgarian navigator had completed the first solo round of the globe. This is Captain Georgi Georgiev, who sails around the world on the ‘Cor Caroli’ in 1976–1977.
The journey begins in Havana and continues through the Panama Canal to the Pacific Ocean’s Marquesas Islands, the Fidji Islands, Suva, and the Australian port of Darvin. He then sails directly to Cape Town, across the southern Atlantic, and finally back to Havana. There will be several perilous situations that will put each member of the crew through their paces in terms of their physics, natural training, and mental fortitude.
