The Jewish community of Varna during the late 19th and early 20th centuries was composed of both Sephardi and Ashkenazi members. Two synagogues were constructed, with the Ashkenazi one being the smaller of the two.
Construction took place from 1908 to 1910 on Ticha Street, at a time when German and Russian Jews had already established their presence in the city. During the era of communism, it was no longer an active temple and was repurposed as a boxing hall.
In 2007, it underwent reconstruction and enhancements, reopening as a functioning temple.
