Located in the park before the Archaeological Museum in Varna is the monument honoring the Armenian immigrants. Erem and Harutyun, the Hovsepyan brothers, inspired the memorial concept. The monument is part of a proposal to produce a song called “Adana,” a translation of a book into Bulgarian and a monument – all with thanks to the Bulgarian people for accepting numerous refugees from Armenia in 1915.
The three components of the project began practically concurrently. Searching the Armenian rocks for a suitable stone for the memorial, the older brother Erem was Once discovered, they drove it to the studio of Misha Avetisyan in Yerevan.
Arriving at Varna in October 2004, the monument was carried to the Armenian Church of St. Sarkis’s courtyard. The monument was solemnly unveiled on April 24, 2006, with a performance of “Adana”.
