Travel Tips Customs and Duties

Be very careful when shopping in a 'duty free area' if you are traveling within the EEC, often as not the goods within the shop are marked up as duty free and then when you get to the terminal to pay, you may suddenly find to your surprise that the 1ltr of  Pimms is no longer €15 but more like €23. Of course not wanting to appear a fool and having already spent time choosing your present you normally just pay up. 

Of course if you are in transit r your journey has started or ends with you coming into the EEC or going out then €15 will be the price, so it pays to be alert when choosing your gifts.
