
If you are looking for an area to observe the architecture in Varna from the time before the Liberation in 1878, “November the 8th” str. is the best place to go.
You will find here in this location a myriad of old Greek houses from the late 18th and early 19th Century. Also in this architectural ensemble one can see the smallest church in Varna – “St. Paraskeva” from 1785, oposite the church is the interesting Museum for the modern history of Varna. It is located in the former Belgium Consulate, this museum tells the story of Varna from 1878, when the city was liberated from Ottoman rule until the end of the Second World War.
During this period, Varna has became a modern European town with a large harbour, factories and wonderful architectural sites.
