Monument by the Armenian refugees in Varna

REF NR: 1779

The Monument of Armenian refugees in Varna is situated in the garden in front of the Archaeological Museum. The idea for the monument is of brothers Hovsepyan - Erem and Arutyun. The monument is part of a project to create a song called "Adana", to translate a book in Bulgarian and a monument. All with gratitude to the Bulgarian people that welcomed many refugees from Armenia in 1915.
The three parts of the project began almost simultaneously. For the monument the older brother Erem sought suitable stone in the rocks of Armenia. In October 2004, the monument arrived at the port of Varna and was transported to the court of the Armenian Church St.Sarkis.
On April 24, 2006, the monument was inaugurated, the "Adana" song was sung.
