Astronaut Alley

The first such tree was planted by Yuri Gagarin on May 26, 1961. It marks the beginning of the tradition.

The silver fir, planted by the first astronaut has been long dry and replaced several times. But some of coniferous trees planted by other astronauts can be seen today.
