
Nowadays the Naval Museum consists of expositions in two buildings and has an outdoor exposition as well. In the 12 halls in which the visitors can enter are displayed different original ship remains like ancient anchors, figure-heads, sailors' and officers' uniforms, scale models, flags and other exhibits such as mines, cannons and others.
A special hall is dedicated to the Bulgarian Navy’s participation in the Balkan War and its glorious victory. There is also a showroom made in the memory of the distinguished poet and navy man Nikola Vaptzarov. In the second building original documents and photographs present the sea culture around the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Here is also and the biggest collection of ship models in the country.
Naval Musuem Varna
In the open-air exhibition, the visitors can see the only torpedo-boat of its kind in existence today. This is the legendary ship “Drazki” which sank the Turkish cruiser Hamidie during the First Balkan War. Another boat outside the buildings is the sailing yacht Cor Caroli on which Georgi Georgiev was the first Bulgarian to sail single handed around the world. The visitors can also see here a lighthouse, a helicopter and many others.
