Ref Number: 171
Scientific Mini Submarine RS-8-B used for underwater experiments and data collection
Ref Number: 171
Varna, Bulgaria, Bulgarian Academy of Science, Institute for Oceanology
Built originally in 1971 by Perry Submarine builders in Florida, it was refurbished in 1986.
The Submarine provided a valuable platform for scientists, including marine biologists, geologists, chemists, and archaeologists, to directly observe and conduct research in the aquatic ecosystem of the ocean floor.
The samples collected through the use of submersible vehicles designed for underwater exploration, such as those used for biological, chemical, and geological research, are renowned for their exceptional accuracy. This precision greatly contributes to the reliability and validity of scientific investigations, exams, and the formulation of factual evidence and arguments.
A chance to see the submarine exists as its currently residing outside on the grass at the Varna Aquarium in the Sea Gardens.
