This remarkable building was built in 1912. The architectural plan was made by the famous and talented Bulgarian architect Nikola Lazarov /1870-1942/. The facades are richly ornamented with baroque elements. The contractor of the building and the first owner was Alexander Vasilev – a well-known Varna public figure, lawyer and mayor of the city in the period 1912-1915.
His home was a place where representatives of the Varna elite met. In the past, the building was called the Little Patrician House. Subsequently, the building was given to the Varna Library.
This is one of the fine examples of Varna’s architectural heritage.
